As some of you know, someone decided to run a red light and run into my F100. I have collected almost all of the replacement parts, it was the front right quarter that was hit. I have decided to just go all out and turn it in to a money pit. So it is going to get painted, but what color? I am leaning toward Grabber Blue, it is close to the trucks original color.

Whatever the color orange color on 69-70 Bosses was called! With the stripes and all!

Grabber blue with Boss stripes would be badass.

This blue. I forgot the name though.

Glad you found all the parts! I'd say black, but grabber would be really unique.
Wheels are badass!

Grabber blue is nice but stands out too much. How about Kona Blue?
![]() 11/13/2014 at 21:33 |

Yeah, I like that. Pretty close to Grabber Blue and the Viper's Competition Blue.

It's Swedish Racing Green

While I like Kona Blue a lot! I want a color that is loud. I want people to see and hear it coming from a long way off.
![]() 11/13/2014 at 21:35 |

The best racing green.

I have not much to remark, other than that these are one of the few trucks to really sell yellow.

I thought about going back to a nice black but the idea of having something that really stands out is too much to resist.
And thanks! I like them, the have a kinda mean look to them.

In that case Tangerine Scream Tri-Coat with long tubes and straight pipes dumped before the axle.

Nope nope nope. You're gonna want to go dark green like this.
Dark green, in my opinion is the GREATEST color on classic trucks.
![]() 11/13/2014 at 21:38 |

That might actually look really cool!

Will I kill the buzz and say instead of grabber blue, do French racing blue? Almost the same color, but a bit more subdued. Softer.

I really like your wheels. I was thinking about after I pay off my car going back to putting money into my F-150 ('79). I want new wheels after I get all the mechanical stuff sorted.

I second this statement

The first vehicle I every bought was a 1965 D100 in a very similar green. I loved it!

Either with a black graphic or stripe Grabber blue would look great.
Or do a classic two-tone with a bold modern colour like that. That would be unique.
![]() 11/13/2014 at 21:45 |

Not a bad suggestion, I will put it in the pile for possible colors. Thanks!
![]() 11/13/2014 at 21:45 |

Two tone?
( i know wrong year but )
![]() 11/13/2014 at 21:47 |

Thanks! They were actually on the truck when I bought them, they were not black though.
Is yours a 302 or a 300?
![]() 11/13/2014 at 21:48 |

paint it that rare mystique blue color that came on sn97 mustangs. That would be absurd and awesome.

Just worry as soon as I say 'French' people spaz out.

The truck was a two tone when it rolled off the line, white over blue. I have thought about a two tone. But not sold on it yet.

It's got the waistline for it. You could do grabber down low and ______ on top.
![]() 11/13/2014 at 21:50 |

lol yeah I can see that. I will call it "Freedom Blue".

302 with a c4 trans. If I had the money I'd drop in some sort of coyote set up. Wouldn't know where to begin or what transmission to use but it'd be a fun project.

Nice. Mine is a 300 but I have just about every part you could want for it sitting on my floor ready to go on after I get it painted. Rebuilt, ported and polished head, over sized valves, a heavy COMP CAM with all the good bits that go with it, Offy intake manifold, Holley 4 Barrel, MSD Ignition, MSD BTM, and for shits and gigs, I have a turbo to slap on the side.
Eventually I will dump the old I6 for something else but I am going to have fun with it for a while.

You sound like a man with a plan. We put a new engine in when I was almost 16 (I've had it since I was 14, 28 now). My stepdad wanted to put a 351 in it but my mom wouldn't let him. She thought (and was probably right) that it would have too much power for a new (to the roads) driver.
Edit: found a picture.

Guardsman Blue. It's even period correct!
![]() 11/13/2014 at 22:03 |

That sounds familiar. My first car was a 1965 Dodge D100, I bought it when I was 15. The old slant six needed replacing so I wanted to put in a 392 or 440 so damn bad I could not stand it. But my mom said, (and was probably right) that it would be too much for a new driver. It got a 361. Still was a lot for that little light truck.

That is actually on my short list of colors, nice choice!

As there is a Kona Gt500 sitting in my garage right now, I agree!

It's called Swedish Racing Green (not joking)

Rebel Blue. At least that's the color code for the Polestars.
